Awareness Campaign and Stories

A national campaign called ‘Journey to Independent Living’ has been launched to raise awareness around the housing options and associated supports that are available to disabled people who wish to live independently in their communities.

Independent living in terms of housing is about disabled people being able to choose where they want to live in the same way as everyone else does and having control over their lives. Disabled people have a right to live independently and participate in their communities just like everyone else.
