Assistive Technology
Assistive Technology is any technology or service used by people with disabilities to help them complete tasks or engage in activities they might not otherwise be able to do. These technologies aim to increase independence, accessibility, and inclusion. There could be assistive technology equipment that may help you with your day-to-day life in your home.
Assistive technologies are customised to a person’s needs and abilities. Assistive technology can range from simple equipment, for example wheelchairs, hearing aids, and magnifying glasses to advanced communication devices and mobility aids, for example automated control of devices such as heating, lights or alarm systems, and automated doors and windows.
Devices and technology can bridge gaps and remove barriers in your home, to make your living space suitable to you and your lifestyle, allowing you to live independently.
